Characterful narrow streets with historic Georgian and Victorian buildings including the home of the captain of the Mayflower which brought the first English settlers to America. Great views of huge container ships using the nearby internal port of Felixstowe.

Alton water can easily be reached by car or bicycle from Manningtree. It’s a large very natural reservoir with a lovely path around it, ideal for a day out cycling or walking.
