Food scene

REGRUB is a locally owned burger bar with one of a kind burgers! Made with Alberta beef, you won't be disappointed by the variety and quality they serve! You also won't believe their milkshakes, each one is topped with a dessert (for example, the cheesecake milkshake is topped with an actual piece of cheesecake!!). One of my absolute favourite places for a treat:)

Village Ice Cream is a local favourite for delicious handmade ice cream! There are four locations in Calgary, so find one that's closest to you and go check them out- they have a good variety of regular ice creams, and also have vegan options! This is my favourite place in the whole city to go have ice cream with friends and family:)

Located in the heart of Kensington, Higher Ground Cafe is a beautiful little cafe with delicious drinks and food. It has become my sister and I's tradition for me to take here on her birthday for a piece of cake and some handcrafted beverages, and we look forward to it every year:) they also have board games on hand for you to stay a while and play!

Calgary is so lucky to host Canada's National Music Centre! If you're a music lover like I am, then you will enjoy all the hidden treasures that the NMC has!

Calgary Zoo is Canada's top zoo for a reason!! There is so much to see, my husband and I have an annual pass so we can go as often as we like! If you're visiting in the summer definitely check out the Land of Lemurs-- you get to walk right into their enclosure and see them up close! One of the lemurs even walked right up to my friend's wheelchair and looked like he was ready to hop on his lap, it was really cool! I could also sit and watch the baby gorilla for hours.

Calgary is so lucky to have this beautiful park right in our city! Feel like you've escaped into nature with a walk or bike ride in Fish Creek Park, or pack up some firewood and hot dogs and head down to Bebo Groove for a wiener roast! You can spend as little or as much time as you want here-- admission and parking are free, just ensure you read the park hours and leave before they close or your car will get locked in at night (I know from "just about" experience!!)

If you're looking for somewhere to learn about more of Canada's history, Heritage Park is a great place to do that in a way that's fun for the whole family!! This "living museum" has lots of historic buildings and replicas for you to explore, and also has some rides (included in the price of admission) and a ferry you can ride around the reservoir (also included in admission price!). Check out their bakery for some fresh baked treats, and check out all the little shops they have. There is also a car museum called the Gasoline Alley Museum -- admission for this is separate, and you don't have to pay for admission to the rest of the park if you just want to go check out some old cars!
