This was my dad’s absolute favorite restaurant ever! He was known for his love of food and he loved the owners of this place and they grieved with us, when he passed in 2019. I am never disappointed in the food and the experience and now I have an even sweeter memory of my father each time I visit.

Foothills Milling Co
315 S Washington StThis was my dad’s absolute favorite restaurant ever! He was known for his love of food and he loved the owners of this place and they grieved with us, when he passed in 2019. I am never disappointed in the food and the experience and now I have an even sweeter memory of my father each time I visit.
This place is well known and worth the 20 minute drive to Knoxville. I literally start to crave their food the minute I consider it as a possibility. Great for outdoor dining and families too.

There used to be a 2 hour wait for this place when it first opened a few years ago. It’s still busy, but if there is a wait, it’s totally worth it.

This is a popular shopping place with big name brands and good deals. We do our back to school shopping and most of our holiday shopping here. It’s about an hour away, but the drive is beautiful through the mountains.

From now through September you can ride with zero cars all day on Wednesdays in the majestic Cades Cove, which is part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Townsend, TN has some wonderful things to do. During summertime you are welcome to tube on the beautiful river or ride casually on the many bike trails.

I am a greenway biker so I mostly know about these routes, but there are many places close by that are geared (pun intended) to more serious cyclists including the Foothills Parkway, Townsend, TN and more. From now through September you can ride with zero cars all day on Wednesdays in the majestic Cades Cove, which is part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Relaxing on the water—Lake Access
Charmed Air has lake access points all around it. Here are a few we know about that are less than a mile away.
This is a great access point for the water with a swimming area, boat launch and shaded picnic space. It’s just over a mile from our place.
Louisville Point Park

Louisville Landing Marina

This is a public boat ramp that is 0.7 miles from Charmed Air. Take a left out of neighborhood and then right turn at Allison Boats (big American flag by sign), go right at sign that says BLOUNT HISTORIC TOUR and you should see the sign that says RAMP HOURS. That is where the landing is, just to the right of the sign. This is kind of tucked away and locals recommend it for ease of entry and no crowds of other boaters.

Country roads make travel slower, but lots of great sites to see. Just be sure to prepare for the longer time you need to get somewhere and if you have a traveller that gets carsick, pack some medication to sooth them.

There is a true saying about Tennessee weather—if you don’t like it, stick around for 30 minutes and it will change. It could be chilly in August and hot in February. Just check the weather map and always have at least a jacket.
