I love this place for its gourmet cuisine , for teh hospitality of the owners and and the lovely terrace . It's at 5 minutes walk from train station, price is not cheap to be in La Spezia , however it's worth while , booking in advance it's a must

One of the places not to miss if you are looking for a simple lunch/dinner tasting La Spezia freshest fish . Very basic and long queue , basic prices too , a good stop before or after taking the boat to 5 Terre from La Spezia waterfront

It's the soul of La Spezia , and not to miss place if you like to live as a local.
Eat Pizza and Farinata .
If you go to Sarzana, then to stop in this place is a must. Il Loggiato is a bit of everything : bar, restuarant and pastry shop.
The Gemmi family owns it since generations, I strongly recommend to have an aperitifs or an after dinner in the patio at the first floor and to relax surrounded by plants and trees
Gemmi's pastry and cakes are simply an institution

Le Terrazze Beach Club , just below my apartment, 5 minutes walk. I like it because it's children friendly with a swimming pool for them and a much large pool for all the ones who don't like swimming on the sea.
There is a restaurant and a nice place for snacks too

I like this private beach place because it's conveniently located close to the village, it has few spots (sun umbrellas and chairs) and it gives an excellent value for money .
It's children friendly ; book a place in advance, it's often fully booked, then ask for a place on the front line so to be very close to the sea.

amazing roman theatre perfectly maintained , worth seeing it !

great excursion 2 hours driving from Portovenere to admire perfectly well kept caves ,in the Lunigiana Region , you can admire stalactites and stalagmites. You can aslo have great thermal hot springs baths in the area
