Kendall Square is home to MIT and the heart of high tech Cambridge. In recent years, there has been an explosion of restaurants in this area. It is close to the Charles River where you can get great views of Boston. Cross over the Longfellow Bridge to enjoy the Esplanade on the Boston side.
Davis Square is a great place to hang out. There is a public path for walking and biking, lots of outdoor places to have a bite to eat, a theatre, thrift shops, you name it!

If you get off the Red Line at Park Street, you will be in a great place to start exploring Boston. Up the hill is the Boston State House. The Boston Common is spread out before you and leads to the Public Gardens. On the Common is the headquarters for the Freedom Trail, a self-guided walking tour of the historic sites of Boston. On a nice day, this is a great way to enjoy the city.

We walk here every Saturday for the amazing farmer's market (9:30-1). There are some great restaurants, funky Bow Market, and a calendar of ultra-local festivals throughout the year (like Fluff Fest).

This is one of our take-out go-tos. We like the chicken tika masala, saag paneer, and lamb korma. Don't forget to add a mango lassi to your order! The onion chutney is spicy and delicious.

This is our favorite Chinese (actually Taiwanese) restaurant.
Service is fast and the food is fresh and delicious. We prefer eating in to take-out. It is a bit of a walk (15-20 min) but worth it!

This is a great pub - whether you're looking for dinner or a pint. The food is also great for take-out. The fish 'n chips (wrapped in newspaper!) are a favorite at our house, but the shepherd's pie and beef stew are close seconds.

For a vegan or vegetarian meal, it is hard to beat Clover. I love the chickpea fritters, my husband loves the rosemary fries, and my son loves the impossible meatball sandwich.

If you are not yet a sake enthusiast, the sommelier at Momi Nonmi will change that. The sake flights here are always a delightful adventure as are the Japanese-inspired small plates. They are only open for take-out right now, but we can't wait until we can eat in again!

This is a great park for all ages. Walk along the Charles, rent a kayak, play in the playground or splash in the wading pool! My father-in-law liked to paint here. You can often spot a heron or a turtle. It is also a great place to enjoy the Head of the Charles Regatta. Also, it's free!

Near the Museum of Science, this park incorporates the Charles River and includes several playgrounds as well as relaxing grassy spaces. It is adjacent to an amazing skate park and a foot (or bike) bridge that will take you to Charlestown. Cross the locks and you'll be at North Station.

If you are in Harvard Square and need a treat, Berry Line will hit the spot. Their "original" is the best. I like it with fruit or mochi. My husband usually adds oreos. They have another location between Harvard and Porter Squares.

This place has a huge fan club! If you are in East Cambridge - maybe visiting the Museum of Science, taking a walk along the Charles, or hanging out at North Point Park - stop by for a delicious treat.
