Great place to go for cocktails. My favorite is the passion fruit martini. A little bit upmarket from the normal really chilled scene in Bude. The restaurant is now run by Elements which used to be out towards Widemouth and which sadly burnt down in 2021.

Rosies Cafe is only 500M from the Annex on the beach. Its a great local business and they do a lot to support the community. Relax in the sofa next to the wood burner for a coffee. Enjoy a great breakfast and our favourite is the loaded chips for lunch - definitely one to share. Check opening times off season they tend to reduce their hours.

Tommy Jacks is great as its so close by. Its only 500 metres from the Annex on the way to Crooklets Beach. Great if you don't want to walk far. Its recently re branded as the Chicken and Rum Shack. They do various food and eat all you like, but check beforehand as they are changing opening times.

Local Pub on the corner just before Crooklets beach. Great as its less than 500 metre walk from the Annex. They have a pool table and large screen TVs for football and Rugby. They don’t serve food but they let you order takeaways that they make next door from the 2Yoo menu.

A great place to go if you are doing the circular walk out along the canal and back on the coast path. Its the end of the canal section where you turn right to go out to the coast path,

Cafe in a barge on the canal - fun place to go.
Great place to eat. Laid back and chilled atmosphere. I love that they to make their own homemade batters. I love the homemade Calamari and chips. Great platters and they love a bit of chilli heat - so if you don't like spicy might be worth mentioning that!

This is a Tapas restaurant that is very popular. Its a little bit of a walk from the Annex as its across the other side of town. Its just over a mile. I enjoy the walk as I would go via the seafront to Sumerleaze beach and then inland on the canal.

This restaurant is in a hotel. It’s been taken over and now called ‘Kerenza’. It’s is only 500 metres from our annexe. It’s painted bright pale blue with a blue glittery sign and a large fake cherry tree inside. The foods great and generally fairly quiet.

I love the Kitchen Front but I am a bit biased as one of my closest mates owns it. Its down on the canal and a great creative space where you can buy Clair's hand painted pottery or have a go yourself with a workshop.

Sightseeing
The wharf is on the old canal of Bude. There are small shops there. Walking out to sea from there you can see the lock gates that open to the sea (only open at hide tide when a boat is due out or in). From the lock gates walk up behind Efford Cottage (Pink) to walk out along the breakwater and up chapel rock.

Northcott Mouth Beach is about a mile walk along the coast path North. On low tides you can walk along the beach but please check first for safety. Margaret's Rustic Tea Rooms are there she is a Bude legend. Set back from the beach up the dusty track in a static caravan. Seasonal opening times.

An easy walk from the annexe along the sea front and down the steps at the sea pool. This is the beach that 'Lifes a Beach' overlooks. At low tides you can walk across the beach to the lock gates over the iron bridge.

We take a bottle sometimes on the beach, sometimes on the grassy cliff and sometimes at the picnic benches on the front. As the beach faces directly West its a great place for sunsets.
