Parks & Nature

STUNNING park designed by the same landscape architect who designed Central Park. He claimed Prospect Park was his masterpiece. Fun to relax and get lost in.

This is the best Garden in the whole metropolitan New York area. Next to or rather part the Prospect Park in Brooklyn leading from Flatbush Avenue starting from Manhattan Bridge. Get away from the hectic city and come here. Beautiful place to visit with friends and family. Best seasons are spring and summer. The vibrant colors of the flowers are stunning. There is an area for kids to learn about nature. An indoor area where certain plants need their own climate weather. I recommend to see the Japanese pond and garden. :-) BTW Tuesday is free admission.

I love this little coffee shop. It is probably one of my favorites in Brooklyn so far. There is a great ambiance, they let you work (computers allowed), the drinks are great and so is the food. I am not a huge sandwich fan but everything I've had here so far, I've really enjoyed. Definitely a place to regurlary come back to.

Great brick oven pizza, salads, appetizers, fish, steak in the best setting - indoors and outdoors! Also they have a great bakery right around the corner, entrance on Halsey Street, where you can get amazing bread, as well as great sausages for the BBQ, as well as other delicious things.

Arts & Culture

It has such a surprisingly huge and varied collection, and is much less crowded and more laid back than the Manhattan museums. The rotating exhibitions are a good thing to keep your eye on as they frequently have great stuff come through. Also, the first Saturday of every month is a great event with music, drinks, talks, film screenings, and more. Not to mention, the building itself is pretty impressive!

Most natural history museums have pretty similar displays but this one definitely has some more impressive displays and it's quite large, purchase tickets online as lines to buy tickets there can get huge.
