Big open green spaces for picnic blankets and for throwing a frisbee or football or go slack lining. You can watch cricket matches, take kids to a wading pool and playground. Beautiful flower beds. A quiet oasis inner city.

It's a park. It's home to Shakespeare in the Park and the Calgary Folk Festival. It's a skating rink in winter. There's a lovely restaurant with an iconic patio for sipping wine or having lunch. Sandwiched between downtown and Sunnyside there will be cyclists, rollerbladers, runners, walkers and buskers. You can walk to a movie at Eau Claire Cinema if there's nothing interesting at The Plaza right in Kensington.
