This 61-acre amusement park is one of Branson's best attractions. With over 40 rides & attractions and 100 craftsmen, it's set up as an old-fashioned city with so much to see. You can visit the blacksmith, the candy maker, or watch as they blow glass. The petting zoo is a fun stop for kids, Marvel Cave is definitely a must-do (lots of stairs, though!), and while you're there, you have to try Clara Belle's Cinnamon Bread! If you go in the summer, you have to return at Christmastime as it's truly something to see! silverdollarcity.com

With a daughter who loves horses, this show is where we usually end up. We're not sad about that either, as it's entertaining and the food is great!! Seeing the buffalo and the soup are two of the things we most look forward to!

At Christmastime, don't miss ice skating at Big Cedar Lodge. There's another rink in town, too, but seriously, Big Cedar is the place to be! You can do a drive-thru light show at no additional cost, the place is lit up like a Christmas wonderland, and they have propane heaters and hot cocoa to warm up with.

If you've got the right day and it's not too hot, a drive down to Dogwood Canyon is absolutely worth it. There are miles of trails to walk or bike, stunning scenery and even a super cool tram to see local wildlife. In June, you can stop by Persimmon Hill Farm to pick fresh berries while you're out in that direction. Be sure to grab a ThunderMuffin while you're there!

Food scene

If you want Italian, Rocco's in Branson is where you're going to want to go. They shop for fresh ingredients every morning, grate their own cheese, make their own ranch...you get the picture. Their calzones are our favorite thing on the menu, and their BBQ chicken pizza on cauliflower crust is a close #2.

If you want a fancier place to go in the evening, we recommend the Buffalo Bar at Top of The Rock (There are several restaurants, so be sure to remember the name.). Make sure you get a table on the patio. At sunset they have live bagpipe music and shoot off a historic canon as diners watch the sun drop into Table Rock Lake. It's a beautiful chance to pause and enjoy the sunset and it's breathtaking every time.

If you want breakfast, Clockers in downtown Branson is a great option. It's old-fashioned and quaint and the coffee is good. They call everybody kiddo, the food is cooked to order, and we always feel like we're in our grandma's kitchen.

If you really want to eat like a local and are in the mood for BBQ, there's a little place on Veterans Blvd called Oscars that is serving up out-of-this-world BBQ! The pulled pork Hawaiian sliders, potato salad and beans are usually what we go for, but I'm not sure you can go wrong there. Don't let the appearance fool you -- it's worth stopping at! (It is outdoor seating or take-out only, though, so keep that in mind.)

If you want something sweet, Cakes & Cream on Hwy 76 is hard to beat! We always go for the funnel cake with strawberries and ice cream on top.

If you want an International meal, Thai Thai on Hwy 76 is one of our go-to's. We recommend their drunken noodles, yellow curry, pineapple fried rice or the fried dumplings, but seriously, we've never had anything we didn't like there.
