Just at the top of the moor and then a picturesque drive past the White Horse you will enter the village of Kilburn, home of the famous Oak furniture 'Mouseman' and its showrooms. Just up the road across the moor is Ryedale, which has some lovely pubs with excellent food.

We often visit tea rooms on our travels. Here are the ones we go to. Tea rooms are part of this area's culture and there are many to choose from, so here our favourites.

From wonderful light lunches to fantastic coffee, the classic Fat Rascals (Yorkshire classic) and Yorkshire Curd Tart are well known and definitely worth a try. They have a small shop at the front if you would prefer to take the goodies with you instead of waiting for a table. The shop is extremely well stocked with sweet treats, bread and fantastic teas and coffees.

They have a small shop at the front if you would prefer to take the goodies with you instead of waiting for a table. The shop is extremely well stocked with sweet treats, bread and fantastic teas and coffees.
