A Danish institution, the small, brown bars called "bodega" are still a part of the daily life in Denmark. Many of them, like Snork, allows smoking, so that's something to be aware of. But to get a flavor of local life, and a cheap beer, bodegas still has a lot to give.

If I'm in Nørrebro, Kind of Blue is definitely one of the bars I stop by. It's located on Ravnsborggade, a street filled with great bars and restaurants.

One of my favorites in the area for great coffee, light breakfast or lunch. Have a seat inside or on the bench outside. A great place for spotting locals on Værnedamsvej when the weather allows it.

The tasty take away. An asian inspired wok with focus on organic ingredients. I personally spend way to much money here and it's worth it every time.

Grød means porridge in Danish. As the name implies the serve great Scandinavian porridge, but if you want something for lunch or dinner they also do excellent Risotto or Daal at a descent price. It's just around the corner from the apartment, and highly recommended.

At Nørreport you'll find the food court Torvehallerne with many small restaurants and food stores. I come here a lot. A great place for lunch or coffee, and close to the beautiful Botanical Garden that is definitely worth a visit. Torvehallerne have several great places for coffee and lunch, one of them also serves great Smørrebrød, if you feel like trying the local speciality.

Not cool, not trendy, but this Pakistani restaurant serves the best butter chicken in town. At least according to my friend with family in Pakistan.

Modern Scandinavian cuisine done just right. Ambitious without being snobby, the little gem Pony is one of the best ways to explore what the Danish kitchen has to offer at the moment. Managed by the same people that also run Kadeau, Pony is the less formal, and the slightly less expensive, alternative to the Michelin star restaurant.

Come here for a stroll, coffee, picknick or just admire the amazing plants in the glasshouses. It's a hidden gem and you'll never regret going here.

Many bicycle shops have bicycles for rent. Baisikeli is one of them. A bit further up Vesterbrogade, on number 141, you’ll find Bike Experten where it’s possible to rent bikes. They apparently only accept cash though. There are also many other places and services where you can rent bikes.
