This once ominous psychiatric hospital has been renovated into Hotel Henry, a luxury hotel on the west side of Buffalo. It is a stunning facility with archaic features not only Norman Bates mom would love.

The Irishman Pub is one of my favorite ethnic eating spots. It features traditional fair from Ireland and won't kill your wallet.

If you are not familiar with Tim Hortons coffee you are missing out. Though I carry the best baked goods in town, I'd be lying if I said I made better coffee then them. As a former employee I think I know my coffee and for the record no.....it is not laced with any additive drugs like many have asked before.

If you have a sweet tooth and love donuts you don't want to miss this place. They have a large assortment of donut flavors, a great price and the size and taste of these will make you overweight in no time flat. My favorite is the strawberry shortcake!!!!

Everyone who comes to Buffalo wants to eat chicken wings at Anchor Bar, which is the originator of Buffalos most well known food. However, if you want the best wings in town you'll want to head to Duff's. It's lesser known but always the go to suggestion for people interested in quality over nostalgia.

It is essential to support the arts, especially local art and artists. This is an excellent opportunity to do just that. I personally have attended a performance of Charlotte's Web with my son's school and it was outstanding.

By far the largest mall scene in Buffalo, I recommend getting there early and exploring. Houses a number of restaurants and specialty stores. I would personally avoid Friday and Saturday evenings as they tend to draw the teenage crowd.

I'm in love with this tiny shop. For those interested in Wicca, Angels, spellcasting or ecclectic items this is the places to go. They even offer readings and groups of all kinds. Angel the owner is a sweetheart and can help with all your questions.

This is one of my favorite spots in WNY. Stiglmeier park offers, two playgrounds, many shelters, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and still has enough space to offer a number of hiking trails that could take hours to explore. These trails are all named and numbered and take you deep into heavy forested areas that include streams, ponds, a deer watch and so much more.

Stiglmeier park offers, two playgrounds, many shelters, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and still has enough space to offer a number of hiking trails that could take hours to explore. These trails are all named and numbered and take you deep into heavy forested areas that include streams, ponds, a deer watch and so much more.
This garden is a beautiful walk through Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees, with picture opts at every turn.

This park is built on two giant hills in East Otto NY. The landscape and views are stunning on their own but then add in the hundreds of giant iron sculptures dotting the entire park you have something really amazing. Watch out for that dinosaur or the giant dancing ladies on the lake. This is not something to be missed if you have the time and stamina.

Shea's is a relic of Buffalo's golden age, it has been restored and holds a great deal of live shows. The architecture is astounding and the acoustics on point. Just all around one of the coolest places that can transport you back to a long forgotten era.

Canalside gets 2 kudos in my list. This park is also great for family friendly activites during the day which are mostly free and live music on Thursday nights at a generally small fee. Combined with some history of that area of town and beautiful lake front scenery makes this well worth a trip for at least a few hours.
