One of our favorite restaurants on Tybee if not in all of Savannah. More on the pricey side but well worth it.

A local favorite for sure. Some of the best Mexican food in Savannah and it’s a 5 minute walk from the townhome. Also, the frozen margaritas are delicious. I recommend the frozen strawberry margarita. You won’t be disappointed.

Featured on Diners, drive ins, and dives, there is a reason the king of Flavor Town visited here. This place has quickly become a local favorite and now a wide known name. It is a 12 min walk from the house. It is also a short drive away. This restaurant has the best and probably the fanciest hot dog I’ve ever had or will have. They also have vegan options as well. Fantastic drink menu and often have some local breweries on draft. Check them out on insta gram to see the rotating menu. They also post the menu outside the restaurant.

This is a local hangout spot for sure. Pizza and cheap cold beer on a summer evening. Yes please! This is a little more of a hike to get to. 22 minutes walking but a 3 min drive.

This is an 11 minute walk away. You can take a stroll down the beach towards north beach to get here for a more scenic route. Enjoy your drink and some lunch on their newly renovated patio space.

101 US-80I took many a field trip to this place growing up. Historic fort from the Civil War. Also has a lot of scenic walking trails. But bring some bug spray because depending on the time of year, the bugs here can be horrendous. This is on the way to Tybee Island.
Unfortunately this is closed. But it is a beautiful site to see so I put it here because on your scenic drive into Tybee you can see this little lighthouse over the the left.

There are not many places that I have come across that quite remind me of this place. It takes a spin of upscale food you may encounter in a trailer park. Check it out. The nachos do not disappoint. Waffle fries with chicken strips, bacon, cheese, ranch, balsamic, and pickles. It’s as delicious as it sounds. And the advocacy fries. Mmm. This also has a sister restaurant called Treylor Park, which is on Bay St.

Cute little French bistro. Small but has outdoor seating. Close to the river. The croissants are so tasty and made in house each morning. And their coffee is great too. They close at 3PM and usually sell out of some things earlier than that so get here earlier than later.

Tybee Island Sea Turtles nesting season May 1st-October
You will probably see the slow turtle crossing on your way onto the island. The loggerhead sea turtles love Tybee and these mommas come here to lay their eggs during their nesting season from about May 1st-October. They lay eggs at night so you may notice that Tybee doesn’t have lights on after 10PM on the beach and it’s for this reason, to promote sea turtle nesting. It is encouraged to use a red flashlight if walking on the beach during this season after 10PM. If you see a nest, let it be. The DNR scopes out the beach each morning for new nests and ropes any new nests off.

If you drive somewhere else on the island and park, you may need to pay a meter. The parking is everyday from 8AM-8PM. There is also an app called Park TYB to easily add more time.

This is a taxi service locally on the island. It only goes on the island and is a flat rate of $5/ride.

Downtown Savannah has parking garages and street parking and both are$1-$2/hour depending where you are and is 8AM-8PM. There is free street parking on Sunday. There is an app called Park Savannah you can download just in case you are still enjoying Savannah and want to add more time.
