Park Slope / Gowanus is certainly home to some amazingly tasteful dishes, especially on 5th Ave.
Literally a couple of steps from the apartment, not only convenient, but really tasteful food (I recommend the "Corvina"). Peruvian restaurant offering seafood-centric dishes - a local favorite, highly recommend.

Right on 5th Ave you'll find this gem, delicious Mexican eatery. Authentic good plates and their margarita's are the best.

Citi bikes are just across the street from the apartment on corner of 3rd Ave. Grab one and head up to the world famous Prospect Park for some lovely green space where you can picnic, ride the bike trail, fish, birdwatch, have a yoga session - or simply layout and enjoy the sun. Also a winter attraction, there's ice skating amongst other cool activities to do with children , mates, or solo.
