Charming place for a stroll and a photo opp with the ancient cypress trees. In March you can’t miss the dozens of Great White Egrets that seasonally roost in the branches. A quiet in crowded place to bring a picnic lunch.

Fascinating little art museum and grounds. Make sure you walk across the street to explore some of its best Mayan architecture.

Food scene

Enjoy a glass of wine and a charred artichoke while sitting on an Adirondack chair overlooking the lake. Stroll through the herb garden and try to save room for the most incredible apple walnut cobbler you’ve ever tasted. Menu is a la carte and pricey, and there is often a wait, but the impeccable service and consistently perfect food makes it worth it. Don’t bother driving, it’s just a block away!

Great lunch special - for a dollar more, add a gorgeous side salad and a piece of baklava. Most meals come with shredded red cabbage, carrot, red onion and rice.

Neighborhoods

High end boutique shopping, reminiscent of a European streetscape. Across the street from beautiful Central Park, a rose garden and SunRail train station. You can’t find a bad meal. Croissant Gourmet is a stand out French bakery. Ten Thousand Villages wins most unique store. Pop in to Barnie’s for coffee.

Artsy eclectic little neighborhood with great cafes and unique shops. Within a few blocks of Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, a great place for a sculpture filled walk and an optional swan paddle boat excursion.
