A most moving story of how the men who created these wonderful gardens were lost, like the gardens. And then, one day, someone rediscovered the lost gardens and was able to tell the story of the men.

Lovely, riverside town with places to eat and drink. Narrow streets to walk along and quaint shops to visit. Watch the activity on the river from a bar or restaurant; magic!

Looe sits on two sides of the Looe River (East & West) full of hustle and bustle; a colourful place. An active, fishing fishing port with lots to see and do. There is also a beach to the south of East Looe. Enjoy a tea and a scone, remember, don’t anger the locals; it’s jam first and cream second in Cornwall :-)

Park at the top of this fishing village and either wend your way down or take the little, electric trams that run regularly from the car park into the centre. Then make your way towards the sea and on dow narrowing streets to the front. There is a beach at low tide, but even better there is the very popular Blue Peter pub up some narrow steps. Great food and full of atmosphere.

On a beautiful day, St Ives has a most beautiful light which makes the harbour look iridescent. Wonderful for food and drink along the front!

A famous starting or finishing line for heading to or from John O’Groats! On a beautiful day a stunning view point but other than that we found it quite disappointing and very commercialised.

On a beautiful evening this is a superb open air place to watch a theatre production. I saw Clochemerle, an amusing play, beautifully performed. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Beautiful spot to relax

Free parking in the middle of Lerryn overlooking the River Lerryn which meanders towards the River Fowey. This is supposed to be one of the places that Kenneth Grahame took inspiration from for his famous book 'Wind in the Willows'. There is a small shop just as you turn into the parking and just above that is The Ship Inn, a pub serving good honest pub grub. There are stepping stones across the river and a lovely bridge. The adventurous visitor might like to try to cross using the stepping stones! There are wooden benches on the grass next to the car park which, on a beautiful day, is a lovely place to sit and watch the tide come in .. sometimes spilling over and into the car park. Care where you park your car should be taken, especially on Spring tides, unless you are wearing your wellies!
