Historical Eastern Market houses an actual market which includes a bakery, a delicatessen, butcher shop, fish shop, a breakfast and sandwich place. Around the market are restaurants, coffee shops, book shopts, Italian and French restaurants, and a flea market that's active on weekends. One block away on Pennsylvania Avenue there are many restaurants, bars, and shops until one gets to the U.S. Capitol

There are many Belgian restaurants in Washington and this one is a favorite. Think mussels, Belgian fries, Dutch and French food. This place is small and gets a crowd so make reservations.

Union Station is Washington's train station, but it also houses many commercial stores and restaurants. The building is grand and worth a tour only for that, but you'll also find coffee shops, stores, exhibits.
