This is an all day car trip with plenty of places to pull over and hike. Start early in the morning, bring a phone charger, and download the Shaka Maui app to enjoy a self-guided tour with many opportunities to explore sights. I loved walking through lava tubes and hiking out to waterfalls.

It gets cold at the summit, really cold. Bring your heaviest jacket or sweater and some hiking shoes if you would like to explore the crater. We downloaded the Shaka Maui app and did the self-guided tour. It was awesome!

This is a small botanical garden that is nice to visit if you are already in Kula. We enjoyed an easy stroll and beautiful photo opportunities.

For a nominal fee you can stroll through the lavender fields, explore other flowers, and check out the lavender products at the gift shop. This is a good one to combine with the botanical garden.

This beach is the close to the condo and has a great area to snorkel. Best time for turtle sightings is in the morning.

This beautiful beach is right across the street from the Kihei Akahi condo. We have spent hours here relaxing and enjoying the view. Hint: the wind starts to kick up in the afternoon, so the best time to enjoy the beach is in the morning.

South Kihei RoadThis beautiful beach is right across the street from the Kihei Akahi condo. We have spent hours here relaxing and enjoying the view. Hint: the wind starts to kick up in the afternoon, so the best time to enjoy the beach is in the morning.
This beautiful beach is connected to Charley Young Beach and is right across the street from the Maui Vista condo. I love taking a long walk in the sand starting here and ending up in Wailea, with some some small treks across the hotel properties. When you get to the end of Kamaole III, look for the sign that leads you on a short trail that will eventually end up near the Wailea resorts, where you can continue your walk along the gorgeous beach resorts.

When you get to the end of Kamaole III, look for the sign that leads you on a short trail that will eventually end up near the Wailea resorts, where you can continue your walk along the gorgeous beach resorts.
This small aquarium is a fun place for families to visit on a rainy day.
