You can drive to diamond harbor but I prefer to take the boat from Lyttelton. Its a gorgeous boat ride for under $20 and diamond harbor is also worth a visit. Take a book or picnic as it’s relatively quiet.

Surfers love sumner beach. I recommend the beach bar for a coffee or lunch. It’s on the beach so beautiful views, especially on a table outside.
