The Rayback is a mix of things - all awesome, super casual, and uber cool. It is a (1) food truck park, (2) beer garden, and (3) a live music venue. Any day of the week, find four different food truck options offering a mix of cuisines to choose from...a whole bunch'a local alcoholic beers and nonalcoholic kombucha on tap...and local singers/guitar players and the like on the stage in the evenings. With a mix of great indoor and outdoor seating, plus lawn games outside, its a GREAT venue for whatever mix you're traveling with...adults, kids, dogs, all are welcome and enjoy the Rayback.

The folks who run five-star rated, internationally acclaimed Frasca next door opened this pizza spot next door a few years back, and its incredible...but not for those looking for huge, cheap Jersey style slices. Fresh dough, incredible ingredients all around, even the pizza oven was imported from Naples. Highly recommend.

This spot is one of the yummiest for any tummy. Boulder's full of folks with food restrictions, and whether you're vegetarian, gluten-free, or have no restrictions at all, Fresh Thyme's food is healthy and delicious.

Another of Boulder's amazing breweries. In addition to plenty of beers to choose from for those who drink, its great for families too, with lawn games off the back deck, kombucha on tap, and amazing food from McDevitt Taco Supply.

Where locals go hiking when they've got time to spare or a mid-day meeting (walk & talk!). Easiest trail is the fire road up the middle of the valley; but each ridge has wonderful options too.

If you're going to have a car while here, Brainard Lake is amazing if you're looking to get into some GORGEOUS nature. From here at the house, you're much closer than you'd be in town to the Brainard Lake Recreation Area (part of the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area)...which is STUNNING, and certainly worth committing a day to visit. Just 18 miles deeper into the mountains (~41m drive, cause of the windy roads)...worth every second!

From here at the house, you're much closer than you'd be in town to the Brainard Lake Recreation Area (part of the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area)...which is STUNNING, and certainly worth committing a day to visit. Just 18 miles deeper into the mountains (~41m drive, cause of the windy roads)...worth every second!

Enjoy the $1 rides and the Wurlitzer, then hop next door to the train cars cafe for fresh mini-donuts, soft serve or hot chocolate in winter.
