It is a great 4km walk around lake Rotoroa. There is also a cafe and children's playground. Coffee and lunch available at The Verandah Cafe.

Rotorua is only 100 kms and takes approximately an hour and a half to drive to, which makes for an easy day trip.

Referred to as "The Mount" it is a beautiful coastal resort town, famous for its surfing and walks on the beach. If you are very fit and feel up to it, you can walk up to the top of The Mount, it takes about 40 minutes.
