He later completed similar achievements with the reed boats Ra, Ra II and Tigris, through which he championed his deep involvement for both the environment and world peace. He was also responsible for important archeological excavations on the Galapagos Islands, Easter Island and in Túcume. Parks & Nature
Hovedøya is one of several small islands in the Oslofjord. The island is quite small and well known for its lush and green nature, with a wide variety of trees, bushes and flowers. On sunny days, many people will want to travel to the bathing and hiking areas on Hovedøya, Gressholmen and Langøyene. If the ferries are full and you are unable to catch the last scheduled departure, the ferry will continue to run until all passengers have completed their journeys. Ferries from Rådhusbrygga (City Hall).

Aker Brygge is known for its strip of restaurants along the boardwalk, with plenty of opportunities for al fresco wining and dining. There's also a wide selection of fashion shops, if you want to renew your wardrobe. On sunny days, Aker Brygge is teeming with activity round the clock, and it doesn't cost you anything to wander along the quay and enjoy the fresh sea air.

On of the things I Iove the most about our capital is the easy accessable forests near by Oslo. Oslomarka is a part of the larger area called Nordmarka. Oslomarka is suitable for skiing during the winter and hiking during summer - or you just take a walk. You can also visit the Holmenkollen skijump. Easy acess from my appartment.
