Owned by two Oakland-born brothers, this tiny gem has a friendly atmosphere and quite honestly some of the best brews in the Bay Area. The tap rotates but pretty much everything they brew is delicious, and they provide tasters of anything you think you'd like.
On Friday nights, there's usually a DJ spinning 90's hip hop.

A little rowdy, depending on the crowd, but a great spot to watch sports or just have a drink. Local (somewhat sad but also heroic) factoid about the building: it was literally picked up and rolled across the street so as not to be demolished by developers of the new condo building.

Parks & Nature
The East Bay hills were once lined with a contiguous stand of redwood trees before the logging industry of the late 1800s chopped them all down. Redwood Regional along with Joaquin Miller Park, ironically the location of the mill that processed these felled beauties, remains.
You can get some incredible views from up here if you hike along the ridge, or descend into the middle of the park for an intimate experience of the lush redwoods and flowing streams.
