The National Museum of Capodimonte is a museum in Naples, located inside the palace of Capodimonte. It houses galleries of ancient art, one of contemporary art and a historic apartment.
It mainly preserves paintings, widely distributed in the two main collections, which include some big names in Italian and international painting (including Raphael, Titian, Parmigianino, Bruegel the Elder, El Greco, Ludovico Carracci, Guido Reni).
Castel dell'Ovo is the oldest castle in the city of Naples and is one of the elements that stands out most in the famous panorama of the gulf. An ancient legend tells that it has taken its name from the Latin poet Virgil: hidden in the secret of the building there is a magic egg that has the power to keep the whole fortress standing. His break would cause not only the collapse of the castle, but also a series of disastrous catastrophes in the city of Naples.
