Seasonally mild weather. Rain showers are a common occurrence. During the warm months mosquitoes and other incests frequent the area so bring incest repellent and sunscreen.

Air travel
Beaufort is located closer to Savannah,GA (45 miles) vs. Charleston,SC (75 miles). Hilton Head Island, SC airport (41 miles away). Consider these options when making flight plans. There is no public transportation and very limited Uber/Lyft service. There is a lengthy security check in process on Parris Island to gain access to the base for visitors/family attending USMC recruit graduation.

Lots of uneven walking paths, some unpaved surfaces. Costal sand is everywhere.
