This is a great old institution of Södermalm! Grand high ceilings and wonderful murals on the walls. Traditional Swedish food. A bit pricey but worth it. Just around the corner from our apartment.

Really nice spot for a cold beer, 2 minute walk from our apartment. On Katarina Bangata street, a lovely tree lined boulevard with a car free walking path all along it.

My favourite parks
This the central square of our neighbourhood. Lovely fountain and trees - very nice place to sit and have an ice cream. Loads of cafes, bars and shops all around it

Very lovely close by park with a paddling pool and a huge sun bathing wood bench. Good cafe and bar there too

This is a stunningly beautiful park, just 5 minutes down the road from where we live. There's a good cafe in there as well or it's a lovely spot high on a hill to sit and look out over the city.

Really beautiful wee park, high up on a hill on Södermalm giving you great views north over the city. The streets and buidlings around it are really beautiful 18th century, cobblestone.

Sightseeing
This is a really beautiful walk by the water on Södermalm. You can actually walk the whole circumference of Södermalm in around 2.5 hours!
My favourite is to walk from Eriksdalsbadet (5 mins from our Apt) to Hornstull. There are several cafes, bars and even boules along the way and a flea market at Hornstull every Sunday.

The royal park. Its an extremely beautiful and huge piece of parkland by the water, right in the centre of Stockholm. A very scenic way to get there from Södermalm is by ferry! Walk down to Barnängsbryggan ferry terminal, just 10-15 mins from our apartment

The biggest indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Stockholm and just 3mins away from our apartment. Lovely pool to hang out in on a hot day. Lots of trees and grass around the the outdoor pool areas.

My favourite museums
A wonderful modern art museum on Skeppsholmen. The space itself is wonderful to be in as well as the art. You get great value and delicious weekday lunches there. It's also very nice just to walk around the island as it's so beautiful.

Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities. Probably my favourite museum in Stockholm and a bit of a hidden gem. There's a gorgeous cafe on the 1st floor, full of plants and Persian rugs.
