I suppose everyone should go here at least once. It's a staple New Orleans place to go to. They serve that Creole style cuisine that you're probably looking for. It is expensive, bring the cash!

This is the grease-spot diner that has generous hours and has been around as long as I've been alive and I'm from here. Opened in the 1940's (I think..), it has been around for a very long while. It hits the spot every time and there are infamous for their milk shakes if dairy is your fancy.

Neighborhoods
More locally referred to as "The Riverbend", there's always people out and about doing something in the Uptown/Carrollton area.. it is very lively. The neighborhood has it all. Live music, restaurants, coffee shops, a library, dive bars, art galleries, convenience stores, etc. There are multiple forms of transportation including the St. Charles streetcar line and bus. The street car takes you one way directly to the French Quarter and CBD and costs $1.25. What a rush!
