Outdoor Fun
Snorkel and kayak rental and tours. Snorkel with bright orange Garibaldi fish in a beautiful kelp forest at La Jolla Cove. You can also rent kayaks and head on a tour of the La Jolla Sea caves.
Super fun hike that climbs up a slot canyon to views of the ocean. Its a short hike the whole family can do. My 5 year old hikes it all the time :)

Fantastic and creative urban playground right on the water in Little Italy. Great place to kids the kids to get some energy out and its walking distance to all the great restaurants in Little Italy.

Crowded and hard to find parking but an absolutely beautiful beach to swim. Clear warm water with great tame waves in the village of La Jolla Shores that has many fantastic spots for lunch, dinner and a drinks. In August, you can snorkel with the leopard sharks. They are very gentle and shy creatures with beautiful purple leopard spots. Occasionally you may see a sea turtle.

There are epic views over the desert and winding trails through forests full of Black Oaks and Ponderosa Pines that open up into wide beautiful prairies. Big Laguna Loop is a great trail that has something for everyone.
