Quintessential Outer Banks. Drive in on the beach road. Dolphin Boats are fantastic and get them with a "black and white" (vanilla ice-cream with chocolate syrup) milkshake.

Lovely walks and trails to see some of the oldest Live oaks on the Outer Banks.
Lovely step back into a simpler time. It's about ah hour drive and then an hour + ferry so you will want to be there the whole day and leave early because the ferry lines start early.... Couple great restaurants, Flying Melon and Back Porch, Edwardos taco truck alone is worth the trip. The coffee house is very relaxing. Oh... and the beach is gorgeous!

Right on the sand dune. They give hang gliding lessons, sell kites and have a cool multi level shopping area with fudge, clothes, icecream and outdoor stuff.
