One of my personal favorite Bend restaurant that looks like a dive from the outside. The owner is super Bend friendly and chefs are all Vietnamese. Very affordable and a ton of food! Outdoor patio in summer.

A twenty minute drive (exit 97 at the Redmond Airport exit) and you will discover the world famous Smith Rock. Beautiful scenery and mountain climbers galore!

Tumalo State Park is a 10 minutes drive from the house. Park in the parking lot and walk towards the River. Turn left and you can follow a trail for miles along the Deschutes River. Great hiking in winter and summer. Park is also great for picnicking and letting kids run wild! This picture is of Tumalo Falls which is NOT at Tumalo State Park...but also a great area to explore!

I love the outdoor exhibits...especially the river otters (try to coordinate when they are feeding them) but there are also interesting exhibits inside! 15 minutes south on Highway 97!
