Good place to go shopping and try out restaurants, if you don't want the hustle bustle of San Francisco. Walnut Creek is only about 15 minutes drive and there are free garage parking in the city, though weekend can get crowded as well.

If you want to go shopping for souvenir, you may find this outlet the place for shopping for less. It is located about 30 minutes drive from Orinda. Plenty of restaurants in Dublin area as well.

Do you know you can bike or hike on the new Bay Bridge? The view of the Bay and the bridge is spectacular! Things to note if you hike: There's no restroom on the trail and no water. Also, bring a jacket as it may be windy and chilly

Stanford and the Silicon Valley offices, such as Apple, Google, and Facebook is typically within 1 hour drive from Orinda. Stanford campus is beautiful and they have a nice Stanford outdoor mall nearby.
