FOODS, BOOZE, COFFEE
A lot of the places I tend to go to are pretty inexpensive. So only a couple of things on this list are at all fancy.
(Plenty more to come as a scan through the city in my mind.)
(Also, this list is in no particular order. I'll have to sort it out someday. Sorry.)

If it's your first time, get the Pho #1. If it's your second time, try the soup, whichever soup they have that day. Everyone knows about their sandwiches but sleeps on their soups.

They roast the beans right there in front of you, and the coffee is pressed like espresso so it gets this fantastic top layer of crema. Don't go putting any cream or sugar into your cup before giving it a taste black! It might turn you into a black coffee drinker.

Great cocktails in a very small and intimate setting.
The owner himself is often behind the bar showing off his creativity. The drinks here are not made with mixers or fillers or sugary bullshit. Every ingredient in them is alcohol. And they're fantastic!

This is probably the only "Speakeasy" type thing I go to. But the drinks are so damn good. It's inside of Village Yokocho, behind a door to your left once you've reached the top of the stairs.

Great coffee shop, tucked away in a sunken storefront on Broadway somehow. They have a wonderful little outdoor patio, and all sorts of different seating arrangements indoors. There is coffee, tea, beer, food, and ice cream.
