While Tartine gets all the glory as a SF bakery. This bakery is a hidden gem. Only local will line up here for its bake goods. Always ask them to reheat your bake good. Enjoy!
My personal favorite? Bread pudding (hum...), any croissants. Btw, their pricing is also much more affordable.

Hum... their chocolate dessert, chocolates are just good. Everything is made in house - scratch from the cocoa beans. Their handmade chocolates are our go-to gifts for out of town family and friends.

oh.... our favorite seafood restaurant in SF. Period. It doesn't take reservation, so go there really early (i.e. 5-6pm) to get a table. Recommend any pasta dish and their most famous cioppino. To be honest, everything is good there. It's a very small restaurant, I recommend to go there in a small group i.e. 2 people. Btw, it's a restaurant in business at the same location for 40 years!

Highly recommend this wine bar/cafe. Drinks are not that spectacular but the live music is! I had great fun every time going there.

Sightseeing
If you are looking for a quick hike, I recommend hiking to the Twin Peaks. It takes about 40 mins to get there from the cottage. Note it can be windy up there, bring your wind breaker (and a camera). Amazing 360 view of the city.

A historical theater at the heart of Castro district. They play rerun movies. Once a while they play sing-a-long movie like "the Sound of Music". How fun!
