Folsom Street may have a sketchy reputation, but it also has some of the best bars, restaurants and clubs. This block is packed with fun and Basil Thai is great.

One of my favorite Mexican spots outside the mission. Pay at the counter and help yourself to the salsas while you watch for the next open table to grab. If nothing else, get carnitas.
