Rough old Amsterdam harbor bar. Doesn't get more local then this. People behind the bar probably don't speak English. But beer is beer. Also in Dutch. Very cheap and a great place to go if there is football on the big screen.

The only forest of Amsterdam. Very nice for a easy walk with children or together. There is a playground hidden in the middle. See if you can find it :-)

The great wide open flat lands of Holland. Just outside of Amsterdam. Take a bike and visit the beautiful small villages build in the 1600's. Get some locally produced milk or cheese and pet the cows and sheeps. Also great for bird-watching.
