It's our go to place. Sometimes a little crowded but we sit at the bar and usually chat to Matt the bartender. Feel free to mention us to him and tip him for us ;-) We can eat if we need to and the food is great. Check out the happy hour drinks and food menu (up to 7pm).

It's a famous Chinese restaurant, in previous years Zuckerberg has been seen in there. But don't let that put you off. Expect to wait for a table. They also do take out, expect to wait for that also.

We end up here regularly, every bit as good as the others, and more economy. Fresh vegetables, noodles, sizzling meat platters. We enjoy eating and take outs from here.

Cheap Sushi, we've had many a good meal here. Not upmarket, but freshly prepared and easy enough to get a table.

Korean BBQ, spicy soup....sometimes you need to clear your sinuses and have Hite beer. we enjoy eating hear. It doesn't have bbq grills at the table though.

It's a great Mexican place. We only went in here recently for the first time and had a superb Saturday Lunch and beer. Great quality and very tasty.

Because once in your life, you deserve to try 3 Michelin stars luxury. It can't be faulted, it is superb and something you won't do every year. their are a few 3 stars in the Bay Area, this is the closest.

Try the Konjoe Pork Belly Burger, and grab a beer from the bottle shop just across, then finish with ice cream or chocolate cake, then get more beer. It's the cycle of life.

Afghan food is superb, and this is where a community of Afghans gather. this place is great, expect a wait to be served. It's also recommended by my Afghani taxi driver and I can't argue with someone who fought the Russians.

Because you need a dive bar fix. It's not that divey, they have a pool table, jukebox and grumpy bar tender. It's a great way to finish off a late night when using one of the online ride services.

Hard to work out if I should have put it on the Food categroy. It's BBQ meat. Served on a metal tray. Which is all good. But it has a fantastic selection of smaller breweries beers, it's a great place to catch lunch and have a few beers.

You're going here because.......every one says to go here. It's a dive bar on Castro Street, busy at times and nothing special. It's a good night when you come out of here and see there are no parked cars on Castro Street anymore. You could do the same at Freds Place.

236 Castro StYou're going here because.......every one says to go here. It's a dive bar on Castro Street, busy at times and nothing special. It's a good night when you come out of here and see there are no parked cars on Castro Street anymore. You could do the same at Freds Place.
This is by far the best cocktail place locally. Superbly crafted and imaginative. Never a dissappointment. Expect 4 Mixologists to be serving the whole bar, so you may wait a while to be served.

Want something slightly off the trail, down a dark staircase to a basement bar? This is the place. We've been here a lot recently and enjoy the ambience and cocktails. This place makes their own Tonic Water (the stuff with Quinine in it). Enjoy!

A vast range of micro brews in the front and back bars. And they serve a variety of hot dogs and duck fat fries. Perfect drinking venue. There's a reason they serve the strong beers in small glasses.
