Parks & Nature
Sadly didn't make the cut to becoming a Park, but it's a great 5 hour hike from Chez Silvaine, past Killarney Lake along Crippen regional parks trail, up the north side of the mountain, stop at space-agey heli-pad on top of Mount Gardner, and down the other side to Blue Water, where you can either take the blue-water bus, or you can chose to take the fork that leads to Tunstall Bay, and walk all the way back via the south side trails, past Eddie's pit, Grafton Lake, and return via the Cove. Detailed hiking maps are available at the General Store

This is a beautiful marine park right beneath the Ecological Reserve. You can kayak here and after landing, walk along the trail that follows the bluffs. Watch for seals, otters, eagles, herons, dolphins, porpoises, grey or humpback whales. On an especially lucky day, you might even see a family of orcas.

The arts Council has moved! The new gallery and performance space, the 'Cove Commons', is now right in Snug Cove and joined to the library. Check out their web site for up to date events of every artistic description. The Bowen Island Arts Council Gallery hosts visual art displays, live events of a musical nature, workshops, etc., which you can find by going by googling BIAC and going to their events calendar.

This is where you will find everything and anything for absurdly ridiculously low prices - and the money from the sales goes to Bowen scholarships and other worthy causes. Also a great place to donate what you don't need/want anymore.

You can rent a scooter! A ZOOM ZOOM! Yes, we have a new scooter rental service which runs from the '4 corners' just up the hill from the ferry landing. See https://www.tourismbowenisland.com/destination/play/outdoor-tours-activities/zoom-zoom-bowen/ for details.
We have 2 bus routes (connected with Translink) - one called 'Bluewater' covering the south-west side, the other 'Eagle Cliff' which goes as far as Hood Point to the North/East side.
TAXI services: 604-250-TAXI (land service ) and 604-250-8497 (water service to downtown at peak commuter times).
Water taxi with daily regular runs to and from mainland, especially after ferry hours, as well as charters:
