Yachts and super ships get lowered to sea level or raised to go to Lake union or Lake Washington. From summer to early fall you can see the various species of Salmon, like chinook, coho, etc

Food Scene
One of the most flavorful pizzas I have had here in Ballard. They don't do delivery, but ordering pickup is awesome. Every time I order my pizza has been ready to go within 15 minutes.

Cuban Sandwiches-A little far for a walk, but well worth it if you can make it.
Go to Paseo if you want amazing food but be prepared to wait a few minutes in line, especially around the lunch hours.

Don't miss out on the goat cheese quiche and the chocolate croissants! The tarts/pies with fruits are great too. Seating can be challenging, as they have few tables and they are always busy.

The interior is very nice and cozy with lots of nice places to sit, and the coffee was great- very smooth. Pick up some coffee beans here for home. Pastry selection was fresh and good.

As far as dive bars go this is one of the best in Seattle. Cheap drinks and inexpensive but tasty food and lots of character in the bar itself and its patronage.

Molly's has some fine Irish brews on tap a few locals too, and a great whiskey selection. One of the only Irish bars I know of that is actually filled with Irish people more often than not.
