This place has fresh and tasty sea seafood. If you like oysters, they offer locally harvested oysters which I've heard are some of the best. Good location overlooking the waterfront.

If you are looking for culinary adventure, this is your place. I've never seen a funkier menu or decor. Prices are really good and the flavors are great. Try the fried pickles!

My favorite Indian restaurant. Tucked away on Wharf Street, this is a great place to experience some far east flavor while roaming the Old Port.

This is a designer/organic pizza place. The location is great (on the water), but the wait is likely to be long. Their wood fired pizza is expensive but I have to say it's very delicious.

Your classic Irish pub. I'm not one for bar/pub food but this one has really great grub. I had the barely risotto and it was divine.

Super good food (surf and turf) at super good prices. I have had several things here that really wowed me. Even the pickles were good. The location is not great but I hope you give this one a chance.

If you want some seafood, I really recommend this place. Outdoor seating is a great thing when you are eating a lobster. They sometimes have live music.

This is a fantastic soup shop! They always have both meat and veggie/vegan options. Ingredients and flavors change with the season. Hang out upstairs for as long as you like to chat/socialize.

If you want some great Japanese food, you must stop in here. The prices are a bit on the high side but you will find the food is very good. They also offer outdoor seating in a Zen Garden patio.

If you are a vegan or veggie, this is a fantastic spot. The food has a strong Thai influence with some really great flavors. I've yet to have anything I didn't like.

By far the coolest space in which to eat or drink. The building used to be cathedral, and the interior is fantastically beautiful. Prices are on the high side.

Wonderful little place for lunch (or dinner but the menu is on the small side). They are known for excellent fries made with duck fat. Fancy cured meats, drinks and milkshakes can also be had.

Though I have not yet been there, nearly anyone who has ever eaten at Fore Street said it was probably the best food in Portland. It's tough to get in, so make a reservation well in advance.
