Their vegetarian option is amazing too. Introduced a vegan friend to it and she ate there three days in a row.

Nong's Khao Man Gai

Luc Lac is one of my favorite places to go that is the perfect intersection of quality, quantity, ambiance, and value.
It almost always has a line, but typically you get seated quickly. It is a little different in that you order when you arrive and generally receive your beverage while you wait for your table. Food comes quickly after you are seated. There is a second station to order more food or drinks for people who are seated.
It is crowded and loud, but it has nice decor. When me and my other half are feeling poor but want a nice dinner - this is our go to place.
Most places close at 9pm for dinner. in Portland. This place is open later than most.

Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen

It almost always has a line, but typically you get seated quickly. It is a little different in that you order when you arrive and generally receive your beverage while you wait for your table. Food comes quickly after you are seated. There is a second station to order more food or drinks for people who are seated.
It is crowded and loud, but it has nice decor. When me and my other half are feeling poor but want a nice dinner - this is our go to place.

It has an ever changing menu ranging from kale salads, crispy pork shanks. oysters, the best veggie dishes you'll ever have, amazing burgers, and my favorite ice cream sundae.
It has been my favorite place for over 5 years and has never varied on quality. The service is generally always amazing.
If you have a group of more than 2, I do recommend calling ahead to see how busy they are or making a reservation. Only once was I unable to sit at the bar and have dinner in a party of 2.
It is also worth just going because there are a ton of great places nearby if you can't get in.

Trifecta Tavern
Don't let the name fool you. This is a fine dining establishment and my FAVORITE restaurant in town.
It has an ever changing menu ranging from kale salads, crispy pork shanks. oysters, the best veggie dishes you'll ever have, amazing burgers, and my favorite ice cream sundae.
It has been my favorite place for over 5 years and has never varied on quality. The service is generally always amazing.
If you have a group of more than 2, I do recommend calling ahead to see how busy they are or making a reservation. Only once was I unable to sit at the bar and have dinner in a party of 2.
It is also worth just going because there are a ton of great places nearby if you can't get in.
The Delta is one of this places that I fell in love with 20+ years ago. I was young and thought everything about it was so cool. It was also the first time I had had collard greens.
Fast forward 20+ years and I still love it. It's a locals kind of place with southern food. It has a bar with great drinks. I would never write home that it is thee best southern food, but I have always really liked the food and enjoyed the atmosphere. It is comfortable and down to earth while being good.

Delta Cafe
4607 SE Woodstock BlvdThe Delta is one of this places that I fell in love with 20+ years ago. I was young and thought everything about it was so cool. It was also the first time I had had collard greens.
Fast forward 20+ years and I still love it. It's a locals kind of place with southern food. It has a bar with great drinks. I would never write home that it is thee best southern food, but I have always really liked the food and enjoyed the atmosphere. It is comfortable and down to earth while being good.
Drinks & Nightlife
Sweet Hereafter is a vegan bar that swerves food until 2am. They have wonderful bowls and sandwiches that are super reasonably priced and delicious. The cocktails are good but strong! They mason jar specials can be sneaky - so consider yourself warned.
It is also a fantastic bar to just hang out in. It has a nice inside, a covered outdoor area with heaters, and a totally outside area with a gas fire pit.
They do allow minors before 9pm.
I love everything about this place.

The Sweet Hereafter
