This place is a real Japanese restaurant (most of the "Japanese" restaurants in Barcelona are actually Chinese), and although they say it's for Japanese tapas, I eat until I'm full when I go there.

A great place to have lunch. Traditional food, and not expensive. There's outdoor seating as well. Try their paella if they've got it!

One of my favorite restaurants. You'll be the only tourists there. Perfect if exploring Gràcia or coming back from Parc Güell. Not too expensive at lunchtime, romantic at dinner time.

Excellent vegetarian cuisine, you feel so healthy and yet so satisfied. Not expensive, lots of food, and you share big wooden tables with other guests.

An absolute must, unless you don't eat sugar. Come here for thick Spanish chocolate, drunk with a spoon, and accompanied by the Castillian churros, the Catalan melindros or the Majorcan ensaïmada.

Another classic café in the city -- only tourists sit at the outside tables, but wherever you are, the churros and chocolate are excellent. I like the shrimp omelette!

Spain being one of the few countries where real absinthe is still sold, now's your chance! This bar has a long history and gets a lot of tourists nowadays, but it's still fun.
