Delicious Delicious waffles, and waffle sandwiches. Enjoy a wide variety of sweet or savory Belgian waffles. Not the best place to eat in, but definitely worth the stop for a take out breakfast or lunch.

Sightseeing
Cape George Point Lighthouse is situated at Cape George Point in the Northumberland Shore region overlooking the waters of St. George’s Bay. Cape Breton Island and Prince Edward Island can be seen on a clear day. The lighthouse sits atop a high cliff and guides vessels into St. George’s Bay. The original lighthouse was erected in 1861 and was destroyed by fire in 1907. The present lighthouse is the third one located on this site which was built in 1968.

Visit the Ballantyne’s Cove Tuna Interpretive Centre to learn more about tuna. The centre’s interpretive panels explore the life cycle of tuna and the history of tuna fishing. The centre also provides a video for viewing, as well as a life-size tuna model. Before leaving, be sure to check out the 19th century Fresnel Lamp, a replica of the lamp once belonging to Cape George Point Lighthouse.

The market features a variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as numerous hand crafted treasures and homemade goods. From the many artisans and crafters you're sure to find a wide array of unique items. Listen to some wonderful music, enjoy breakfast or choose from an assortment of other delights cooked on site every Saturday morning by the vendors.

Those desiring a good trek will “enjoy” the 370m (1200ft) of climb over the full hike up steep ridges and into deep ravines.Less experienced outdoors people will appreciate that there is a map sign found at every trail junction, and that you are never more than 800m/yd from any one of them. Many route options are available with this interconnected design of trail network, with the longest route available totalling 11-km (7-mi). Fairmont Ridge offers marvelous vistas of Antigonish Harbour, St. George's Bay and Cape Breton from numerous locations along the route.

Mahoneys Beach is a relaxing sand and beach stone sand bar that you can walk along at low tide. Explore the lagoons and sandbar, the tide pools, and beach grasses and flowers. Large Blue Herons are often seen here!
