First of all to visit for the immediate vicinity, the Baths of Diocletian, the most magnificent spa ever built in Rome between 298 and 306 (event bigger than the Baths of Caracalla extending over 13 hectares which could accommodate up to 3000 persons). These large halls were transformed by Michelangelo around 1560 for the construction of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Convent of the Carthusians . Today it hosts the Museo Nazionale Romano.
