Trinity College is Ireland’s oldest university and was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I on the grounds of an Augustinian Priory. Trinity College‘s Old Library is home to more than a million books and manuscripts and houses the world famous ‘Book of Kells’ dating from 9th century. The ‘Long Room’ of the Old Library is well worth a visit and holds temporary exhibitions. From May to September, official guided walking tours of the college are held.

Attractions in the park include the Visitor’s Centre, a walled Victorian kitchen garden and Dublin Zoo. The park has a number of magnificent residences including that of the Irish president and the Ambassador of the United States.
