Situated in the gorgeous Little Venice area of Maida Vale is The Bridge House. Decorated with extravagant chandeliers and lavish furnishings, this pub is an excellent setting for enjoying a hearty, home-cooked meal. You’ll find traditional pub food on the menu, and behind the bar you’ll be spoilt for choices with eleven specialty beers and three real ales on tap. You may also find yourself rubbing shoulders with some of the thespians from the Canal Café Theatre during your meal, as the building is shared between the two establishments. Drinks & Nightlife

A lovely, wood-clad pub that's been in Little Venice since 1867 and has maintained all its charm. They have open log fires to boot, which, let's face it, is a bonus in Brrritain.

f this pub were in the centre of town, it would be included in every single tourist guide. If you're familiar with the exuberant gin palace interior of the Princess Louise in Holborn, then this is its even more flamboyant little brother. Ale fans will be relieved to find that, despite its appearance, this pub is not ran by the Sam Smiths chain who own so many of these grand old buildings. That means you'll find three or four ales on draught from the Young's range.

The Elgin is the very model of a modern major local, with exposed brickwork, bare wooden floors, rotating ales and a cool, laid-back vibe. They also have half an elephant stuck on the wall. Not sure why, but there you go. It's part of the Urban Leisure Group, who can also count the not-dissimilar Alice Houses in nearby Queen's Park and Whampstead among their empire. No faulting the beer selection, with 10 crafts on draught (including cider) and a lotta bottles in the fridge. We're also loving the dymo labelling on the pumps, although it does penalise those of us who really should be wearing our glasses for acute short-sightedness, but are to vain to wear them in the pub.
