Hole in the wall Mexican food. This Mexican's favorite local lunch spot. Good food, great prices, attentive service. From the huge breakfast tacos to the steak/shrimp platters, you can't go wrong here. Not fancy, but good.

Fantastic southern food in an incredible location. Next door to the famous Emma Hotel and Pearl Brewery, this gorgeous restaurant is worth the short drive into town.

Gruene is a must for anyone visiting San Antonio hill country. And Gruene River Grill is among the better options for dining in this iconic town. Go look at Grist Mill, but eat at Gruene River Grill. My favorite here is the Jalapeno seafood chowder.

1404 Gruene RdGruene is a must for anyone visiting San Antonio hill country. And Gruene River Grill is among the better options for dining in this iconic town. Go look at Grist Mill, but eat at Gruene River Grill. My favorite here is the Jalapeno seafood chowder.
Great mix of stunning views (overlooking all of San Antonio), fantastic margaritas, and authentic Mexican (very little Tex Mex here) food.

It's a Texas Hill Country experience. Not for the weak of heart, this place is heavy on the fried and even heavier on the gravy. But if you're staying in Bulverde, you have to do Antler's at least once while you're here.

Be careful, because this place gets stupid busy on weekends and during school holidays. But if your visit doesn't overlap with either of those times, and you love hiking and incredible nature views, Enchanted Rock is a must.
