My favourite Thai place is a wonderful dive bar, about a 5 minute walk from the apartment opposite the entrance to Christchurch College.
The Old Tom is not much to look at but has seating for 15 in the bar and then another 20 in the ‘restaurant’ area at the back so book if you can! Owned and ran by a Thai family, it’s great value and the food is authentic. Make sure you have the Kanom Jeeb dumplings 🥟
FYI the Old Tom is named after the bell that tolls in Christchurch Cathedral!

This is so much more than pub grub.French owner Michelle and his fab wife Jackie serve the best French food for a very reasonable price. Check out early set menu and grab a glass of real ale :) mmm

Best curry in and around Jericho. Very small so if you wanna eat in, book in advance but for a takeaway it is just as good.

It's an experience! Take someone who wants to buy you dinner and enjoy :) Booking recommended as it gets busy and is a 30 min taxi ride but well worth it for their amazing Thai food and Sunday lunch!

Great vegetarian pub in Jericho AND has a huge garden which catches the sun in Summer.I can highly recommend their veggie chilli and the awesome cheesy garlic bread.Enjoy!

Last week saw the launch of their late night opening Thursday to Saturday coinciding with the opening of The Market Tap by Tap Social Movement.
Award-winning craft brewery and hospitality company Tap Social Movement has opened a café, bar, and bottleshop ‘The Market Tap by Tap Social’ in Oxford’s historic The Covered Market.
Located in The Covered Market’s central courtyard, The Market Tap will offer 8 craft beers and ciders on draught and 1 on cask, along with pastries from Proof Social Bakehouse, toasties, and a curated range of wines, cocktails, and canned craft beer. Open seven days a week, The Market Tap is one of several traders that will take part in Covered Market Nights, which will see the market extend its opening hours until 11 pm Thursday – Saturday. Other traders taking advantage of the late night opening are The Market Cellar Door, Teardrop Bar, YOU Underwear, The Woolhound, Colombia Coffee Roasters, Gulp Fiction, Sartorelli’s Pizza, Brown’s Cafe and A Taste of China. *

Awesome pub. Totally my local and wicked in the summer on front terrace or round the back with the dirty smokers, they also do some quality pies / pub food etc. Not the cheapest pub but worth it.

Friendly team who run it and it’s super close and convenient to the apartment!
