Well worth a visit to this Castle and surrounding gardens, has a great adventure playground for both young and old alike. Take a picnic or eat in the castle kitchen cafe or even nearby Thornhill.

Lovely drive to get there approx hour and a half depending on your driving and the Gallie Craig award winning cliff top coffee house is waiting to offer a delicious lunch or snack while you enjoy the views.

One for the walkers and worth the views if you manage. It is 570 m (1,870 ft) high but appears higher because of its great isolation and high prominence. It is a prominent feature in many of the views from the northern Lake District on a clear day.
