Pristine beaches and coastline, 10 mins drive along the coast road just nth of town will give you a scenic drive to many bays along the way there are good swimming beaches at Ngarumu bay & Thornton bay & there is a popular cafe also 15 mins drive along this coast. Waihi beach 6 mins drive from Waihi township in the other direction has a beautiful coast line & village well worth a visit. .East coast beaches - Tairua, Hahei, hot water beach are other popular beaches..
