Huge local park. Amazing views and wilderness right in the city. Miles of maintained and groomed XC ski trails in the winter. Hiking to beach and through dense forest all year round. Miles of single track mountain bike trails weaving through the forest (even great on a fat bike in the snow!).
Also the best place in Anchorage to see a Moose!

Best place for ice skating in the winter! City maintained and hot moped. Great place to go for festive community feel around the holidays. Stay warm by the fire barrels. Right along the coastal trail about 2 miles from house. Great place for an early morning walk all year round.
